Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Honeybees 101 collects, how we use it, and the control you have over it. We keep data collection minimal on purpose.

Who We Are

Honeybees 101 is an educational beekeeping website. For privacy questions, reach us through the contact page. This site is operated from the United States and is intended for a general audience.

Information We Collect

  • Information you give us. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your first name and email address. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email and message.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers may log basic technical data such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), referring page, browser type and device type.
  • Search queries. Text you enter into the site search is used to show results and may be processed by our providers.

We do not collect payment information, and we do not sell products directly.

How We Use Information

  • To send the newsletter and seasonal hive reminders you asked for
  • To reply to messages sent through the contact form
  • To understand which guides are useful and improve the site
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. Honeybees 101 uses them in three ways:

  • Essential cookies. Needed for the site to function properly, such as remembering preferences or protecting forms.
  • Analytics cookies. Help us see aggregate traffic patterns so we can improve pages. These are not used to identify you personally.
  • Affiliate cookies. When you click a link to Amazon or eBay, the retailer may set a cookie that records that your visit came from our site so we can be credited with a commission. These cookies are controlled by the retailer, not by us. See the Affiliate Disclosure for more.

You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking affiliate cookies does not change the price you pay; it only means we may not earn a commission.

Third-Party Links & Services

Our pages link to external sites, including Amazon, eBay, university extension services, government agencies and beekeeping associations. Their privacy practices are their own; we encourage you to read their policies. Affiliate links open in a new tab and are marked as sponsored.

Data Retention

Newsletter subscribers stay on our list until they unsubscribe, which is available from the link in every email. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve the inquiry, then deleted or archived in aggregate.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, or to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell it). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you can contact us to exercise any of these rights.

Children's Privacy

Honeybees 101 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the updated date below. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
