Why Honeybees 101 Uses Affiliate Links

Honeybees 101 is free to read. Running the site — research, hosting, photography and time — costs money, and affiliate commissions are our primary way of covering it. We are an educational beekeeping resource first; affiliate income simply lets us keep publishing without charging readers.

How It Works

When you click a product link on our site, you are taken to the retailer (Amazon or eBay) on their own website. You pay exactly the same price you would pay if you had gone there directly. If you make a qualifying purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. If you do not buy, we earn nothing.

• Amazon Associates Program: Honeybees 101 is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
• eBay Partner Network: Honeybees 101 participates in the eBay Partner Network and may earn a commission when you buy through qualifying eBay links.
• No extra cost: Commissions never change the price you pay. If a retailer runs a discount, you still get it.

Does It Change Our Recommendations?

No — and we work hard to keep it that way. We recommend equipment because we would (or do) use it in our own apiaries, not because it pays better. We do not invent prices, ratings or review counts, we say when a product is overkill for a beginner, and we regularly recommend used equipment on eBay where that is the smarter buy. Where Disclosures Appear

A short disclosure appears on every page that contains affiliate links: the Shop, all gear guides, product card sections inside articles, and retail-linked resource pages. Outbound product links open in a new tab and are marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener".

Cookies and Tracking

Affiliate programs work through small cookie files that remember that your visit came from our link. These cookies are set by the retailer, not by us. We do not sell your data or build advertising profiles of readers. See the Cookie section of our Privacy Policy for details.

Future Revenue

If we later introduce other monetization — such as display advertising, newsletter sponsorships or digital products — this page will be updated before or at the same time, and the relevant sections of the site will carry their own disclosures.
